ALL CAPS letterpress print

Original letterpress print, in small limited edition, hand signed and numbered.

This is a tribute to MF DOOM - RIP. He was a true master of disaster, mic controlling maniac, word wielding brainiac, last seen drifting into the sunset like a piece of dust in your cataract from a primer coated Cadillac. If you know his work, it's fair to assume you're a fan. He spun words and metaphors like very few can. He wore this iconic metal mask, cross referenced better than an AI librarian, and forever left a collection of music that will be played for millennium.

His name is spelled with ALL CAPS, I love to type in ALL CAPS, and maybe it's yelling...maybe not. This was printed using ALL METAL CAPS, which is both a nod to his name and the mask.

I feel that art can be considered Visual Language. So using letterpress and type in my own work the last few years capitalizes on this. It’s a process and technique I created, and call “drawing with letterforms”. In the first few prints with this technique I was limiting myself to 1 color inks. I finished those I knew that like with drawing if I were to add a few tone's I could really pull some dimensionality out, and also knew that an image of his mask would need it.
