I’ve been creative as long as I can remember. Throughout school I was one of those “hey could you draw me something” kids. In fact, for my last two years of high school I used my persuasive powers to convince the school that art was visual language. So they allowed me to replace foreign language with additional art classes. I had a great art teacher in high school, Mr. Albini, who had a really amazing space for us, and those years had a huge impact on me.

Several decades later I now feel that art truly is Visual Language. So using letterpress and type in my work the last few years capitalizes on this. This is also seen with my recent series here titled: LETTERHEAD / TYPEFACE. It’s a process and technique I created, and call “drawing with letterforms”. I am looking forward to expanding upon it in the future with various colors, type styles and sizes.
